the only thing that is the same is the outboar spline size and count.... hubs from 87-early 89 are the same for n/a and s/c.

other than that... the axles are in no way, shape, or form the same... inboard shafts on the s/c is longer, larger diameter, and have a different spline count. The joint is built completely different (s/c axles use no studs... uses more of what looks like a machine allen bolt), and the shaft size is completely different. IRIC the ball & cage is completely different as well.

when I worked at a parts shop, when I was bulding my 87 s/c... I couldn't find axles anywhere... toyota stated "we might be able to get them, but no guarantee.... and they are $500 each plus a core".... that was about 5 years ago or so.... I got mine used.
