As for toyotaspeed90 here's a mystery for ya.

I pitched that very expensive to rebuild E-51 S/C tranny, installed a NA c-52.
The axles on the c-52 didn't fit the axle carriers from the SC and I had to use the carriers from the c-52. (the tow-in adjusters lengthened too BTW)
Any idea what was going on there?

(The cool part of this swap is that I now have easy to obtain rear brake rotors from the NA which are different from the hard to find SC size.)

rotors should be the same...... 87-89 all have the same stuff back there in terms of suspension and brakes (for the same build date.... late 89 is not the same as 87-early 89)

In terms of "carriers" you would have to be more specifc there....

like I said, both C series and E series axles are very different.... the only thing that's the same is the outboard spline size and shaft, since both the n/a and the s/c use the same hub. Other than that, the size (diameters, length), spline counts, build type, are completely different -- so you would need to use complete C series axles and complete E series axles.... nothing is interchangeable...

n/a vs. s/c...

notice the joint build is completely different.
