Sounds pretty sick. I too live where emissions are of no importance
Check engine light should not come on, as long as the o2 sensor is still plugged in... then again, when I was building my exhaust, I had to drive it down the road to the exhaust shop running nothing but the BT header, with o2 sensor disconnected, and I got no idiot light.
