so i read in some other toyota forums that im not the only one to make this mistake. And it has been suggested there that they should have welded or rivited that connection adapter into place so you cant take it off... aparently if i want to cut off the black lid and re-solder them it could work again, but im going to go with a new/used one and also try to repair the exsisting one as well and just sell it or keep it, whatever. But from all the other forums about cleaning the AFM, theirs look MUCH different than ours, and i cant find a thread ANYWHERE that explains how to properly clean an MR2 AFM... except the newer MKIII's. So if anyone has cleaned it before and know how to properly do it, i would love a good explaination on how its done. Pictures would be DANDY as well too.
Also, who is the OEM manufacturer for the AFM? I find a few manufacturers, but i cant tell if they are all aftermarket, or if one of them is an OEM replacement.
