Mr Mike,
The Supercharged version of the Mark 1 mr2 SC had only 5,000 units imported and therefore would be what most car folks consider as a "Limited Edition".
The "junkyards" throughout America no longer "stock" our cars, the demand is slim and therefore there is no profit in it for them. You may find a dead one laying in pasteur but odds are it died a horrible mechanical death if not mangled beyond recognition.
This choice of car will require that you do your own mechanical work or pay huge sums of money for others to do this work for you. That's reality.
If you are the type of mechanic that can be creative and have some semblance of a "making it work" aptitude this could be your car.
If you are a perfectionist this car will sit in your garage for a very long time and your pleasure will be in visiting your prize not in enjoying it on the road dusting off old mustangs.
The mid-engined car is a very exciting car to drive, the Supercharzed version will not leave you wanting for over 100mph fun. At the same time 32mpg and that Sunday afternoon drive with the t-tops off...priceless !
Shop wisely my friend.
