1986 Toyota MR2 w/20v BT swap
Vehicle Location: Farmington Hills, MI 48336
Vehicle Price: $3000 obo
Vehicle Odometer: 164k

Well, there are no jobs in Michigan, but there is rent and food, so I need to get rid of my MR2. It's pretty respectably quick, being 2200lbs with 165+hp, and I've tested it to get right around 35mpg, driving conservatively, or closer to 30mpg with more spirited driving. The lightweight BT internals combined with NST crank pulley and lightweight flywheel mean it revs VERY quick, almost race car fast. I find it enjoyable, but the more ham-fisted driver may end up stalling it at lights (it ain't that tough, but I hear stories about people, lol). I've got a lot of the old parts, which you can have if you want them, including the original set of wheels, which I had planned to use for a set of snow tires. I'm asking $3000.

Mods:

Drivetrain:
20v Blacktop 4age swap, with wiring harness done by mr220v (165hp)
C52 Transmission w/fresh Redline MT90
TwosRUs Brass shift bushings
Lightweight flywheel and new clutch
NST lightweight crank pulley
Cone air filter
Custom exhaust
New spark plugs
Fresh Mobil 1 synthetic oil

Wheels/tires/suspension/brakes:
15x7 Kosei K1 Racing wheels
205/50R15 BFGoodrich g-Force sport tires (new)
Rear ball joints replaced with OEM units (these are notorious for failing on MR2s)
At some point, the shocks were replaced (previous owner)
Brakes are in good shape.

Interior:
New Pioneer CD player w/line in jack
Aftermarket steering wheel
Aftermarket shift knob (yay, no more penis shifter!)
Short shifter'

Body:
Mostly pretty decent shape, the dreaded rust around the wheel arches has been patched up, though there is a small hole behind the left front wheel arch. The patching isn't perfect, and if you look closely you can see a few wavy points, especially on the rear wheel arches. I did the best I could, but I'm not a magician. The original color was red, and it's been painted semi-gloss black.

Other:
Battery relocated to frunk
Confirmed weight: 2200lbs empty

Known issues:
E-brake was rusted beyond repair, and has been removed. Just leave it in gear and there's no problem.
No A/C
Custom exhaust is a bit on the noisy side.
I recommend replacing the bushings to tighten up the handling.

Pictures: (sorry for the dirt... it appears the car was filthy in pretty much every shot, lol)
