I would definitely keep it and let it drain back to the block drain...plus that port is an extra port for balancing crankcase pressures. It doesn't hurt anything to keep the oil in the system.

Mine works very well on the stock gen3 setup...on my road racing car. Therefore, there really is no reason to remove it to put a new one in.
