Many online parts stores will mistakenly list having an SC passenger axle available. However, what they are offering is almost certainly a passenger axle for the N.A. transmission. I ought to know, because I ordered a couple of them.
te51levin summed up my take on the situation: search nationwide for a axle specialty shop with a good reputation and ship it off for a rebuild.

keep in mind his car is RHD.
IIRC the short axle can be used from a turbo mk2 because the longer axle uses an intermediate shaft, which the e51 doesn't utilize.....
you might also be able to use one from a supercharged corolla... as long as you make sure it's for an e51 box (and if yours has lsd you will need an axle with lsd.... if not, again, not)
