Is the side of the axle that connects to the transmission suppose to be flexible? honestly when it goes on it hits the strut and wont bend down any.

yes, it needs to be flexible... I ran into this same problem when I received my axles sent by another Mr2 owner who didn't use the C shaped brackets to hold the cage in place...
Can't remember where I found it (or if it still is out there, as this was about 6 years ago) but the bearings don't go in exactly how you would think... they're offset from the housing (hard to describe).
