Randy beat the snot out of his s51/s54 hybrid for a season of SoloII and ProSolo before he broke the tranny (lost teeth off the ring gear, IIRC). That was with a S/C'd 1mz and huge race tires in back. It's only 1 data point, of course...
If you're not a drag racer you should be ok, even with a turbo setup.
