Interesting. I have to wonder why someone would suggest re-inventing the wheel (i.e. adapting parts from another car) when the original, correct, high-quality parts are still available. if you were trying to add A/C to an old car (a Hillman Husky, for example) then yeah, adapt something modern. Otherwise, it makes sense to take advantage of the design work that Toyota's engineers have already done.

Unless you are the guy getting paid to adapt parts - then I guess you'd want to convince people to pay you to do something
