sounds like your ebrake cable snaped off.
its super easy to fix. the only thing is that you chill out around $50 or so for new cables.

First: find out which side cable got busted. Have a friend pull the ebrake while you look under see which one is moving and which one is not.

After that its pretty stright forward just jack the car up high so you can work under it. Remove the underbody panles, bam its all there. A couple of bolts from the panles and two or so for the brake cable, bam your done.

Actually removing the panles takes the longest. that all there is to it.
