Spent time with the builder today. Finally found someone more anal than me about engines
He is blue printing everything. Man he even trimmed the pistion rings for the right gap.
I have found an error with a part.
The oil squirters have been updated. They now have the allen bolt that holds them recessed into the body of the oil squirter. I guess to give a greater distance to the revolving crankshaft. Well they havent updated the allen bolt. No big deal, but to find an error is very rare.
Next , looking at the head, Toyota machined the holes for the head bolts just to clear the bolt. The washer must be droped in first at an angle. Why they didnt bore the hole for the size of the washer beats me.
Well because im getting my studs made ( to a longer length ) and the washers also instead of being 2 mm thick they will be around 40 mm ( for more stretch of the stud )
I have to bore out the opening, The aluminium is there...................
Ill also have to think about one more thing since the head is being machined i might tap the head for the oil return from the oil catch can like the Turbo head instead of using my pot, well more OEM i guess.
Also he can recheck all my shims
