if it were my kid ..i dont care how much they whine about having a sporty car..they get a sedan until their driving skills are honed.
although my first car was a 280z and my second was a fiero v6
i wrecked them both to some degree..fender benders ,trees, ect.
i wouldnt want to put my child in that situation.

Insurance on my MKI n/a when I was 18 was 2600/6 months - as a girl. I know many guys who have like camaros and had 3 accidents and their insurance is no where near mine.. When I looked into getting my second gen at 19 now, almost 20, they classified it as a class 19 risk vehicle. I put it on my boyfriends insurance and it's less than 100/month fully insured. Where is the sense in that?
I still think Mr2's are good first cars, but there is something I disagree with that was said earlier about, put any civic owner in an mr2 and it'll get wrecked really fast. I think this is wrong. I kind of took it like, the ricer show off kids. But MR2 owners have those in the group as well. How many honda civics vs mr2s are there on the road? A lot more civics, therefore a lot more idiots in civics than idiots in mr2s.
All it is is respect. If you're a bad driver most likely it's because you don't respect the power that your car has - this applies to every vehicle, IMO.
