Fuel tank hell

The fuel tank has been a big PITA. I would highly recommend a lift for this job. I had no clearance because the rear subframe is off and I couldn't move the car around. It was really tough to work with only about 10" clearance.

Draining the old tank completely:

Fuel pump install:

Butt/crimp connectors are for ghetto stereos, not vital/ hard-to-access components.

Strip both the leads on the Walbro harness and cut the screw-down connectors off the stock pump. Flux and tin all of the leads and slide two pieces of heat-shink tubing over the leads.

Solder leads togther, preferably AWAY from your open fuel tank.

Use your wife's haridryer to shink the tubing,

Important! To keep from doing this over, verify continuity across the newly joined harnesses.

Intall the fuel pump onto the brakect (just snaps in) and tighten hose clamps.

Install the whole mess in the tank, tie your fuel sender and pump harness together over the fuel level sender access port.
