I currently have the Turboxs RFL BOV and someone told me its roughly 130-150 decibels when it "blows off"....I like it just because it is so ridiculously loud (also have Blitz Nur Spec exhaust). Yes, I probably will go deaf before I am 30. Ive heard throughout being in this community and from other MR2 owners that it leaks. I have had some instances when the car idled extremely low and almost stalled...I am assuming my BOV needed adjustment but that has only happened once or twice.
When I have more money I am getting the HKS sequential BOV. Ive heard so much that stock is the best, but I personally just like having a turbocharged car with a bov that vents into the atmosphere. It gives people something to talk about, even though most people have no idea what it is and Ive had people ask me if my car is broken after I drove by them and the car blew off (due to them never having witnessed a turbo car).
Ive witnessed other BOV's like the Tial (which is extremely quiet and subtle), Greddy Type S which also has a nice sound (I know this is lame but I just watched this tonite cuz my girlfriend wanted to see it again...the green eclipse in Fast and the Furious uses the type S). I have a friend w/ a turbo IS300 and he got one of the blitz BOV's and it is short in sound and kinda loud but not too bad.
