Thanks Canadam, I do have the manual 6-speed gearbox, standard in the > 2002 model ZZW30 in this part of the world. So that would make it even easier for me if I want to do the swap.
But your remark makes me think there may be other differences between the US models and mine.
Anyway, at the moment I don't really think about this swap. I wonder if it would be the right choice to make, since a lot of my mileage is done in traffic jams and cruising on the highway to work. I believe Toyota put this engine in because it is good at both sporty and normal driving styles.
I would love some more (bottom) power though for the fun driving tracks.
