Side vent duct rubber

Do you access the black rubber inserts behind the side vents by removing the vents, or by removing the grill from inside the engine bay?

Also - does anyone have pics of the side vents removed? Judging by the service manual they look like a hassle to put back on once removed.

Thanks in advance!

you have to remove both to get the rubber out of the vent. I took mine out to clean the overspray off from the last time I had m car painted. All I did was take a pressure washer to them and all the paint and grime came right off.

Only took a year to get a response.

I never would have considered pressure washing. I was going to replace them outright. Thanks for the tip!
