They use a T04E 46-trim compressor, which itself is a 300 rwhp compressor. They mate it to a stock turbine who has had a bunch of CNC work on on the turbine housing to make it flow better.
This turbo is perfect for someone who wants more power but has visual emissions inspections to worry about. Outwardly, it looks identical to the stock CT26. |

The ATS site shows an increase of approximately 35rwhp on a near stock 93T, which I would assume was a USDM engine, rated at ~200bhp in stock form.
With a Japanese GenII, which is rated at ~225ps (~221bhp), would it be expected to see a similar gain over the stock levels on this engine, or would the increase in power be lesser due to the higher output of the JDM GenII ?

Hi Adam,
We haven't tested the CT27 on a JDM Gen 2 for obvious reasons. That means my answer is essentially "bench racing", even though it is based on known facts. The JDM gen 2 gets the extra 21bhp from additional timing advance, and running slightly higher boost. The JDM ceramic CT26 is no more capable than the US spec one, while being considerably more fragile, due to the ceramic turbine. I would expect to see comparable gains on a Jap-spec gen 2 motor to what we saw on the U.S. one. |

Sorry to revive this thread. A few quick questions...
1. Would you expect the CT27 to have an adverse effect on emissions? I'm not talking visual, but the sniffer portion. Would swapping out a CT26 that passes smog then cause it to fail? 2. Do you have any in stock? 3. Would my JDM CT26 qualify for a core refund? k thanks. |
