ECU upgrade
A number of years ago (1999 I think), I had a spare ECU modified to enable the 16 psi map built into the 3SGTE ECU by a company called G-Tech or G-Force out in CA. I believe that they are now out of business.
They also modified the fuel map, which made it leaner, and hence, causes knock in my MR2. My question is, are you using the same system as they did to modify the ECU? I think the software came from Japan, but I can't be sure. I'm hoping that it is the same mods, as I just hate to have wasted that money! I have a spare motor and tranny that I'm going to fully rebuild and increase the output. I don't want a killer motor, so I will be going with the CT-27. The CT-26 that is on the engine now has already been modified with a larger compressor wheel, but the exhaust side is unmodified. I will be using that turbo to do the mods to. This is a relatively long term project (money), so sending items back and forth is not a problem. Bob |

Pretty sure its all Techtom software/chips all the romtuned 2nd gen ECUs are using as its like the only system that seems to work.
I dont think ATS uses the same maps and curves as the G-Force ECUs are though. |

Luni is correct. We are using the same Techtom software and hardware as G-Force Engineering used. They were not MR2 specialists, and thus their tuning was not as effective as ours is. "Jack of all trades...Master of none"
It's $250 to reflash a G-Force ECU for stock injectors (their chips are encoded, so we have to burn two) the first time, and $150 for any subsequent reflashes for the 440s. 550s are $100 more the first time, with the same $150 reflash rate once you have a 550 tune from us. We can offer a 550 ROM tune for any turbo, custom tuned on our dyno, and that's included in the pricing above. We only offer mail order tunes for our turbo kits. Best regards, Ken |

Thanks to both of you. As of right now, I'm going to keep things in a medium state of tune. My plans are to fully upgrade the modified CT26 that I have to a CT27, better IC, KO 2.5 exhaust, lighter flywheel, LSD, fully tranny rebuild, and probably not much more. 17 psi is probably the max that I'll ever use, and mostly, I'll keep it down to around 13-15. It is a daily driver that we also take to the mountain roads here in AZ and have a little fun with...Bob

Well, CT27 at 17 psi is approaching the limit of stock fuel system on a 2nd gen engine with 440s.
ATS does have a romtune package with a CT27, 550cc injectors, romtune (you can pay a little more to put a toggle switch to run higher boost on race fuel and flip it back for normal driving). Go check out their website and see what they have, I dont remember the price, but, with intake, exhaust, intercooler, downpipe, their system is good for close to 300hp on an otherwise stock engine IF you have the race tune, and IF youre running the higher boost, and IF you are using race fuel so you dont blow your engine up. They also offer the same sort of deal with a TD06 kit, which is straight up good for around 300hp bolt onto an otherwise stock engine. Not too shabby IMO. |

Like I said, it's just my opinion. If the OP has even the slightest doubt that he may upgrade to a td06, then i'd go ahead and upgrade the fuel now with 550's, but if solely sticking with a ct27, 440's will suffice. |
