A 2.2 stroker using a gen3 block with the following: 5S crank destroked to 3S rod sizes, balanced with rotating assembly, micropolished King Engine Bearings & Thrust Washers CP 86.5MM forged pistons, 9.0:1 compression, .020 over bore Eagle H-Beam Rods ARP Headstuds New OEM seals, gaskets, oil strainers, rear seal retainer Cometic MLS Headgasket OEM Oil Pump Water Pump Timing Belt, tensioner Or something to that effect. I have a core and i dont need to ship because i will just drive to you. LMK please. |

If you use the 5s block instead of the 3s, the block is cast in the larger cyl diameter. Therefore just a clean-up is usually needed leaving more material in the cyl. walls.

Reading your specs again, it sounds like you are asking to destroke the 2.2 crank to the 3s thow. Not sure why you would do this as opposed to using the 3s crank.

Using a 5S crank in a 3S block gives you more displacement...you'll need to have to the crank machined down to accept the 3S rods however, but still more displacement over running a 3S crank.

Well the info on your site says its a .020 overbore....and you say
.040 which one is it? And what makes the gen3 blocks differnet from the gen2. i thought they were the same? |
