New intake manifold option presented by ATS
We have been working on this intake manifold design for quite sometime now. We have decided its time to let out some info on the design while we are waiting for a few parts to come back from the machine shop.
This manifold is based off the stock lower runners. We chose the stock lower runners since they provide more then enough flow and good options for stock TVIS or Phenolic spacers. The runners are mated to the plenum by a 1/2 plate with tapered inlets for smooth flow. The plenum is made of 11 gauge 5 inch aluminum tube. This manifold will be avalable as a side feed or a center feed. Also different throttle body sizes will be available 65-75MM and stock. We carry Wilson Manifold Full CNC throttle body much like the ones found in the Supra community on 1200+ WHP cars. Unlike some other manifold options out there I’m including all the necessary brackets, fittings, and throttle body parts to make the installation a breeze. Here are a few pics during the process of making a center feed. I start out with a stock manifold that has been cut then jet washed and decked by our machine shop. ![]() Next its time to weld on the port adapter plate. ![]() ![]() All eight ports are blended by hand. ![]() |

At this point the plenum is cut and welded into place.
![]() Here are a few pictures of a manifold being test fit on a customer’s car. This particular manifold is a center feed with a 70mm Wilson manifolds throttle body. Notice all the vacuum ports are on the bottom of the manifold for a cleaner look. ![]() ![]() Look more Pics! Here is a side feed setup. ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Ok time to release the price and some more info on these manifolds. All manifolds will come with a 75mm Ford Mustang throttle body flange. However if you wish to keep the stock throttle body we will soon offer an adapter kit that will allow you to bolt your stock TB up to the Ford style Flange. This will make it very easy for you to upgrade later, as your need for speed grows the manifold has the ability to grow with you.
ATS Racing will be offering 65-75mm Wilson Manifold throttle bodies to go with this manifold. If you choose to buy a TB from us we will be making package deals that will include a bolt on throttle rotor, throttle cable bracket and a TPS sensor with connectors. The throttle rotors are in the production process as we speak. The price for the manifold itself is $500 this will include everything you need to install it like vacuum fittings and hardware. This does not include the throttle body and throttle body install parts. We will also be offering a $50 discount on our Phenolic spacers if you purchase one at the same time as the manifold. If you already own a phenolic spacer sorry this is not a retroactive discount. Matt |

We just finished a back to back test on a customers car using the ATS Center feed 65mm Throttle body manifold. To make the results a comparable as possible we put Kyle’s car on our dyno and did a few base pulls @ 17 psi with the stock (extrude honed). Then without removing the car from the dyno I installed the ATS manifold I built the week before. What we found was exactly what I expected around a 25 HP gain across the board at the same boost level (17psi). After installing the ATS manifold we soon found out that Kyle’s car had a extrude honed factory manifold so we might have seen even more gains if his car would have had a completely stock manifold to begin with. Also looking at the Autronic logs we made the ATS manifold actually spooled 200 rpm sooner than the stock unit.
Here is the back to back comparison. 17 psi The 371hp was the most it made on the stock manifold it did many 363-365 hp pulls so I thought I would post the highest of the stock manifold. ![]() Mods on the test car ATS 2.2l stroker TTE head gasket Built head HKS 264 cams ATS gt3082 turbo kit RX7 850cc injectors ATS intake manifold Wilson 65mm Throttle body ATS phenolic spacer Butterfly exhaust Custom trunk mount intercooler built by ATS Synapse bov Autronic tuned by ATSScott The list goes on Here is a pull at 25 psi that was cut short do to a lean situation caused by a lazy supra fuel pump. You can see where this was headed I never did a back to back race gas run but the previous best @ 25 psi was 444 HP.![]() Matt |

Very nice, you guys going to offer IC piping for the side feed as well? IIRC only 1st and 4th gen 3sgte's came w/ side feed and neither of those came in an MR2, correct?

nice, what kinda of gains might be expected on a stock block, iirc its more intake mani design then cams themselves that affect moving the tq curve to the right.

A quick production update - we are waiting on our adapters for the stock throttle body and our throttle cable wheels for the aftermarket throttle bodies. Aaron |

That sounds good right around 350 is what im looking at, i Thought that was no issue on a stock block. what do you say.

Nice looking manifold matt. Finally a reliably built manifold that keeps TVIS and doesn't cost an ass load (JUN...) to buy!

sorry if this is double post i thought i put this up but now i dont see it...
I am researching there uses but waht i was considering was 264 cams maybe springs etc, are gears needed? Your intake manifold some intercooler berk style or better, probably not tmic though, did u need that to hit 390? turbo wise ct27 minimum, been peaking at gt28rs etc also. 2.5 down pipe and and greddy muffler if it will do it, but i know that 2.5 is pushing it probably. Of course whatever fuels and tuing mods are necessarry, maybe ats rom tune, aem or hydra not sure yet, but my local guys do aem i think, as do you also at ats right? what am i forgetting? |
