Rebuild 97 mr2 trans

How much to rebuild my 97 LSD trans. Shifts slow and pops/grinds high RPM 4th gear. Redline help but still not happy.

Impossible to accurately quote until it is apart. If it's just a syncro thing (it rarely is on 93+) then it would be about $600, if it's a clip or retainer problem then it goes up from there. Worse case, if it was not fixable cheaply we could rebuild a 91 for you and put your LSD in there for about $900.

The grind and pop going into 4th gear I am sure is a worn syncro but want I can seen to figure out is want is making the trans shift slow. It only while moving. While the car is sitting with the clutch pushed in it shifts fine. So it’s not the clutch sticking. The only thing I can think of is that the Spec stage II clutch is to heave making me have to push harder to get it in gear or wait until it syncs up. But I haven’t heard if anyone complain about their spec clutch making their shifts slower.
