The actual ecu programs cannot be tuned. You have to run a piggyback or standalone. The 3rd gen ecu runs fine on 91 octane. If you want a good tune I would go with someone who's tuned for companies like Jun and Tomei. PM me if you want me to put you in touch with the right people.

When would Jun or Tomei have access to 91 octane? Isn't Japan 94 octane and isn't that exactly what this thread is about? The good news is that the Gen 3 should run OK on 91 octane at 15 psi. Pay attention to the car's behavior and if it seems inconsistent (like fast one pull and slow the next) then you need to back the boost down a little bit until you get more consistent behavior. They run all day at 17psi on 93 octane, so 15 on 91 should be alright. We don't offer rom-tunes for the Gen 3 ecu's. The cost of hardware alone is $800, so the finished product is really close to the price of a Power FC. Aaron |

Doesn't matter if they make products for them or not. I was saying their tuners know how to tune a standalone completely. I know it's not worth it on an unmodified 3rd gen.

Yeah, As Aaron said, they will run fine on 91 as long as you follow the points he made..
I speak from experience with this.. I had to get gas one day (well night to be exact) and I was in the middle of nowhere and the only station that was open was out of 93 and the next closest thing they had was 91 (how, I dont know since most stations here only have 2 tanks (87 and 93) and mix at the pump to make different grades) so I filled up with that and the car ran pretty much the same (however, I did turn the boost down to 12psi instead of 17 like I normally run) Im sure it would have been fine at 15 as Aaron pointed out but I figured just to play it safe, I'd cut it back further. |
