20g or gt3071(82)etc...???

i have a 93 mr2 w/gen3 swap and out of the 20g or gt30 series which would you go with? looking to do about 12sec quarter and also be quick out of the turns of an autoX track. and do all this on the stock gen3 fuel system and ecu(IF EVEN POSSABILE). also what would be a safe boost psi to run?we have 91 @ the pumps here in albuquerque with an eleavation of about 5000. please get back to me when you can, no rush kinda strapped for cash. just wana get an idea of which way i should go. thanx in advance. and if things pick up here soon look foward to doing business with ya again.

The GT3071 with the .63 AR is like the TD06 with no lag. The two turbos offer almost identical peak power on pump gas (the GT3071R has a ~30+ whp advantage on race gas though). The GT3071R spools about 300rpm sooner than the TD06 20G. So if you can afford the price difference the GT3071R is the way to go.

As far as using stock Gen 3 electronics, that shouldn't be a problem. With the stock cams I have seen 300-310 whp at 17 psi, however with only 91 octane available I would be hesitant to run more than 16 psi. I would check around for a source of race fuel in your area, even a little mixed in to get ~94 octane will make a good difference in the performance. If you can get 19 psi without detonation you should be near the max of the Gen 3 fuel system (330whp).

PS be sure you have a Walbro or Supra fuel pump in there to supply those 540's.

I just built a car like this for a customer. He loves it. It's a great daily driver on those stock Gen 3 electronics.

awsome! thanx for the fast reply! the mods that will follow are your axle cages, cam gears. also an ebay intercooler that i may replace with a name brand cause i hear these have bad heat "soak"?? also 3in exhaust all the way back and i have a walbro 255 that will be replaced with an msd (282lb/hr) external pump cause for some reason the walbro pump stops pumping fuel after a good long drive. you can hear it still working but it sounds like its "cavitating" cause my presure is about 5psi and this is the second pump that ive bought and also bought "in tank" fuel line to try and fix this but it still dose it so..... im 86ing it. (sorry for thr book) and i have one last question. will 800cc "if" needed will work with gen3 elec or will that be the time to go ems? cause 300-310 whp is plenty for me. but!... you know after a while it just might not be enough. but thanx again anywho!
