GT28RS kits?
Hey,
I was wonder if there is going to be a gt28rs package upgrade kit. Mainly consisting of the turbo kit and required fuel components. Thanks |

In a word, Yes... I've been retained to do the downpipes, I've just not had the time to dedicate to the tooling required to fabricate them. The big holdup on this kit isn't ATS, it's me. :-/ I have the bends, flanges and prototype here ready to work. I have to build a mandrel for the special shape that goes into the turbo.

Thanks for the update, do you know if there are plans to offer it with a rom tune?

We will offer it with a 440CC rom tune. Until a local customer has us ROM tune a car on our dyno, with the 28RS kit and 550's, we will not be able to offer a turbo kit/fuel system/550 ROM combo, like we have for our CT27/TD05/TD06 kits. Quite frankly, I don't expect the turbo to need 550's though, except at race gas boost levels. (17PSI+)
Best regards, Ken |

I guess I have been slightly confused as to the power potential of the gt28rs. I might change my mind about this turbo then.

This is the same turbo used in TTE Turbo Spyder kit, isn't it? I'd have thought it was a litte conservative for the 3SGTE if used in a factory application on a smaller engine... What kind of power goals are expected with this setup?

I'm not familiar with the TTE Spyder kit. We're expecting between 270 and 290 RWHP on pump, (with a stock Ve engine) and maybe 30 or 40 more on race gas, depending on the setup, and how much boost is run.

Nice ! That's much more impressive than the gains seen on the 1ZZ by the TTE kit.

That's about what our CT27 upgrade does...for $850, LOL.

To bad ATS is not closer to the east coast, my car could be a perfect candidate for a gt28rs upgrade!

People are making 260-280 RWHP on pump with our CT27/ROM combo (the 440CC/min one) with a 3" DP, free flowing exhaust, and upgraded intercooler.
Here is a 17PSI pump gas plot: ![]() Mods on test car: JDM stock long block, Greddy Intercooler, KO 3" TKO exhaust, ATS Tuned Rom set for 550cc injectors, 550cc injectors, Walbro Fuel Pump, K&N style intake. Here is the same car at 22PSI: The standing record for the CT27 is 322RWHP@22PSI (race gas) on a stock longblock 91T. I don't have that plot handy, but can dig it up if you want to see it. Ken |

How have customers felt about the boost response with the td06 packages? |

I haven't had a single complaint. They typically reach 200RWTQ between 3400 and 3700RPM in 4th gear, on a stock long block 3SGTE. Once the boost comes on, it will keep you pinned in your seat past redline.
With our 550 dual tune combo, you can be making 300-310RWHP @17PSI on pump, and ~350RWHP @22PSI on race gas. We put a small toggle switch on the casing to switch between maps, which you can extend to the cabin, if you prefer. One of our MK1.5 customers is going to use the octane switch in the 88SC shell to switch between maps. Pretty neat stuff. Ken |

Just curious if there is anyway to just get the ats td06 kit and the rom tune for that since I have the fuel rail, fuel pump, and injectors. If so, how much would this cost?
Thanks |

It is tempting, I would want to find a cheap usdm ecu for the core exchange, as I would like to hang on to my jdm ecu that came with the motor incase I ever went back to stock.

You can convert our ROM tuned ECU's back to stock, by pulling the daughterboard and putting the Denso CPU in the socket on the main board.

So would it be the exact ecu I sent in that got the daughterboard, and I would have the denso cpu at my disposal?
Also, will there be the ability to upgrade to the future possible romtune that has the end user compatabilty, and is the time table for the gt series turbo packages the same as the new rom tune? Thanks for promply answering my questions. |
