The ct27
I am thinking about ordering a ct27, can I mail you guys my core in advance to inspect so that I know if I qualify for the full core refund or not?
Do you have any ct27s in stock? I have an extra jdm ceramic ct26 missing one fin on the exhaust side, are you interested in taking it in as well for a small refund on my purchase? thanks ATS |

Yes, you can send your core in advance. Send the other core too, if you want, and Aaron will inspect it and tell you what he would be willing to give you for it.
We have some in stock, but they are all sold/shipping out. We should have more in stock in a few days, assuming nobody buys them before then. Thanks, Ken |

you will need everything listed, plus a Walbro or Supra fuel pump.

They each have their advantages. The Walbro is less expensive, and draws less amperage. (which probably only matters to people installing more than one pump)
The Supra (Denso) pump is more expensive, but is also more reliable. It draws more amperage than the Walbro. Some people have reported that the Walbro is noisier than the Supra pump. In my own experience, I couldn't hear either of them from inside the car. Ken |

You mean Aaron's 93T? That's his wife's daily driver. It's not really worth installing cams with a small turbo like a CT27.

All this talk of increased performance is intriguing. But I'm thinking of replacing my turbo in the near future - not for more power - but because it's getting old and my auto-tech says it's starting to sweat. Still pulls as hard as years ago but I think it's nearing the end of its life cycle and I'd like to replace it before it dies.
I've priced a new replacement CT26 at about $1,800 and some change. Now, I'm not overly concerned about that price. It's just if I get your CT27: - Will it be as smooth & reliable as the factory turbo? - Does it need other replacement parts for it to work properly, can I just bolt it on to my stock engine in place of my current CT26? - Will it still have that nice whistle sound behind my right ear? ![]() |

In addition to RePete's questions:
- If I replace my CT26 in an otherwise stock motor with a CT27 will I see gains? - What kind of warranty is included? - Does it have a similar life expectancy to my OEM turbo? |

Hi guys,
The CT27 will be as smooth as the stock turbo, but will keep pulling where the stock turbo falls on it's face. It has a 6 month/unlimited miles warranty against manufacturer defects. In my personal experience, I ran the identical compressor upgrade for 3 years/45k miles without ever having a problem. Aaron has had the CT27 installed on his 93T for almost 3 years now, at 17PSI, and his wife daily drives and autocrosses the car. There are no additional parts needed, other than perhaps new OEM gaskets. We do recommend an aftermarket down pipe, exhaust, and intercooler to get maximum benefit from the CT27, but they are not necessary to install and use it. The sound is a little deeper in pitch than a stock turbo, probably due to the different geometry of the larger compressor wheel. Here is a bone stock 93T (except for an Apexi intake) @ 10PSI. The red run is stock, the blue one is with a CT27 installed, running at the same 10PSI: Best regards, Ken |

If the car is completely stock, with the stock primary cat and turbine elbow in place, I would plan on a full day, with a friend helping. It can go a lot faster, but it depends on how seized up the stock bolts are. It helps a lot to soak them thoroughly with PB Blaster the night before. If it's not your daily driver, you could soak it every night for 3 or 4 nights before the job.

Thanks for the info, Ken. That dyno chart is impressive, it looks like that's the sort of power change you can actually feel at the seat of your pants. You've given me something to seriously consider.
