removing pitch from paint

Any suggestions on what works for fresh pitch as well as hardened pitch?

do you meen fish eyes that should wet sand out and if you got runs in the paint then you should sand it down and even it out. some times you have to redo the hole panel. or hood whatever touches it pritty much. sorry if i sound like a retard been up 48 hours

do a wet sand and just put a new clear coat on it that is the best idea without repainting the hole car.

I've had really good success removing old hardened tree sap with Dupont Prepsol. Wet the towel with Prepsol and lay it on the paint for a half hour. Keep it wet and then wipe it off. I'd really try this before I'd do any wet sanding and polishing.

Mine was really bad and i used laquer thinner, took off the sap.. and the clear coat.. Looks like **** now.

Brake fluid works actually too.

One of the best ways to totally destroy someone's paint job is to dump brake fluid on it

I know this is a little old, but I thought I'd chime in...since I used to detail professionally.

For the love of god DO NOT use brake fluid. Use Lacquer Thinner. Wet a rag with it, and wipe the sap. Re-wet the rag, do it again, etc till it's off. A lot of detailers use lacquer thinner for things like this. It's a detailers secret I guess. Great for removing tar from the rocker panels too, and many other uses. Just be careful when you use it, don't go dumping it straight on the paint. Bad idea!!! It will leave the paint hazy and dull, but that's not a issue. You have to hand polish the paint back out by hand with a quality polish.
