if you like nanowax, you'll LOVE nxt. its just like nanowax, except it shines more, lasts longer, and is much easier to remove.. not that nanowax is too hard to remove, but nxt is just a breeze. its like 3 bucks more per bottle, but the time savings alone is worth it.

I use NXT on everything I own, I have tried every wax you can buy at any of our local retail locations. I actually bought NXT because the original bottles had an Rx-7 on the label (If you cant tell I own one), I know a stupid reason at best. But it caught my eye, I started actually reading the label and liked what it said. I reapply it more frequently than you are probably supposed to, but the finish blows me away. And it lasts really well, holds up to rain well, and to long exposure to the sun. I used to use Diamond Finish Wax for years, it isnt available to the public, or at least not around here. I ordered it through a dealership my dad works at. It is a great wax, but it doesnt hold a candle to NXT.

NXT is much easier to apply and remove than any wax I have used so far, I use the liquid and the spray bottle for touch up. I beleive they make it in a paste as well, I could be wrong though. I really reccomend using a microfiber towl to remove it, it hardly requires any effort at all.

Check it out, it isnt very expensive either.

Wich in particular have the DUST REPELENT. I HATE DUST. And yes, as soon as i'm done spending nearly 7 hours waxing there is dust all over it. I use the nst wax by meguirs. It's very good, but i still get dust all over it.

I still get dust on my car with Nanowax... but as I do highway driving every day it doesn't seem to stick. My GF's car I purposefully didn't wax one of the front fenders. At the end of 1 week, it was just as dusty as the hood I Nanowaxed. Both were easily cleaned by one of those car dusters.

So while it doesn't really REPEL dust, it doesn't ATTRACT it either. But it was far easier to wipe clean than dusty traditional wax.

I have to agree with you there. It doesnt attract it, but I dont know of anything out there with a dust repellent. If you have a microfiber towel it will wipe the dust right off once you use a sealer. A california duster or something of that sort would be something to invest in. My Rx7 sits in a garage with an unfinished ceiling, with kids bumping around all day long it knocks alot of dust out of the ceiling so wax or polymers I deal with dust ALL the time.

New to this forum but not new to detailing. I've been a detailer for over 45 years as a sideline. NXT Tech Wax is a really, really nice product but I think Meguiar's #21 Synthetic Sealant is even better. Same reflective wetlook shine but it lasts longer. Weeks longer than NXT. The downside is that you need to order it as it is not an OTC product.

One more neat Meguiar's product is their new Ultimate Quik Detailer. This stuff sheds water off your paint like RainX sheds water off your windshield. Bugs don't stick either. It leaves a streak free shine.

I know I probably sound like a Meguiar's shill but let me say that I use a lot of their their stuff because it works for me. I do use other manufacturers products as well. Meguiar's has made me a fan through their products performance over these many years so I tend to try and to use a lot of their stuff. I'm not suggesting that there are not better products and don't care to get into any my wax is better than yours debate. Find the stuff that you like and works for you and use it.

Here is a shot of M21 on my mostly stock 91 red MR2 - NA. I used their #80 Speed Glaze with my PC first to prep the surface.

Here is the whole car.

x2 i wish i could make my 2 look half as good. i guess since i really don't have paint on 100% of my car then i will wait until it does to detail it, but i'll try some meguiars stuff soon to see if it can restore the 17-18 year old paint.

GR8MR2... Wow... My 2 has a brand new paint job and I only wish I could get it to look that nice. I used Turtle Ice last year cause I didn't want to deal with residue. Maybe I need to switch. Maybe I also need to upgrade my tails. Maybe I also need to detail my engine bay. Once again... nice job.

wax [waks]

verb (used with object)

1. what bugalu does to "dat ass"

noun

1. any of a group of substances composed of hydrocarbons, alcohols, fatty acids, and esters that are solid at ordinary temperatures.

so dave as you can see there are no oils in wax, you are clearly a fabricating ginger hussie. besides when i be'z "waxin dat ass" i use water or silicone based lubes only.
this episode of myth busters is brought to you by LOG by BLAMO!
but seriously the wax i prefer from personal experience is zaino, and it is not that expensive... probably causes cancer in cambodian babies or something, i have always been satisfied with it.

Composition:

Carnauba wax contains mainly esters of fatty acids (80-85%), fatty alcohols (10-15%), acids (3-6%) and hydrocarbons (1-3%). Specific for carnauba wax is the content of esterified fatty diols (about 20%), hydroxylated fatty acids (about 6%) and cinnamic acid (about 10%). Cinnamic acid, an antioxidant, may be hydroxylated or methoxylated.

I have some questions..

if I also want to use the swirl/scratch removal ,the #21 as well as the Ultimate Quik Detailer, what is the correct sequence to apply. Can you throw me some info?

Thanks
