aw11 seats... color?
So I'm painting my mk1 in the coming weeks, and it occurs to me that the seats, too, have an excessive amount of red on them. Short of replacing the seats, or seat covers (do the stock seats have removable covers, even?) what are my options for darkening them up? (making them black, ideally)
Don't know squat about fabric dye. Like everything else I'm not real big on looking great, just looking not red and not staining my pants would be "good enough" for me ![]() |

fabric dye won't work. I've tried it myself to try to turn my blue interior to all black and red, and after a million treatments (like 5) the seats always went back to blue, that's because it's supposed to be submerged in the dye for an hour or so. the only way to darken your seats is to take off the fabric that's there and put on new fabric. if you know how to do that yourself, then that's awesome, otherwise you'll have to take it to an upholsery shop. also, you could get buckets.

I saw a commercial a long while ago about the duplicolor vinyl paint. Maybe it would be a cheap thing to try.
