Its close enough....
Not autoX, but there is no rally section and RallyX is practically AutoX just off road....

Doesn't the lack of LSD make the MR2 suck for rallyx?
I've loved rally racing ever since I've known what it is and all the cars I've ever seen or even heard of at least had some basic kind of LSD, if not a welded differential. |

Yea, I mean it is never going to be easy, but I'm sure LSD would have helped.
I've done lots of AutoX, and this was my first RallyX, and it was WAY more fun to drive RallyX than AutoX |

Drifto-desu!!!!!!
but seriously man, you got driving skills. I would have been spinning out like crazy one of the good thing about RallyX is that it does not wear your tires out like autoX does right? haha, were people at the club looking at you like ._. |

LOL, I was the only person who spun out the entire event, seen as how every other car except mine was AWD and there was one civic. And no, it does not a great amount of damage to the tires, just the underbody takes a bit of a beating.

Rallycross is a blast!! I've been doing it for over 5 years now. I started in a 93 AWD Talon, then moved to an 86 CRX and now I'm using my 85 MR2 n/a.
It does suck not having an lsd, but with good tires you can make up the difference. If you don't want all out rally tires, just get some winter tires. You can run in the stock class with them. I run M2 just because that's what I ran with my old CRX and it's more fun going against beefier cars. And to prove you really don't need lsd's, one of the cars that actually does really good up here is an old Suzuki Swift 1.3ltr!! It's all in how well you drive the car. Here's some pics from ours. Subiewrx : photos : Harvest Moon Rallyx- powered by SmugMug My fav's of me are #416 and #418. But the pics do tell me one really important thing.....I really need to get new suspension!! |

He doesn't want to hurt his paint.......
I hear that worry from alot of people that don't want to come out and play in the dirt. Doing what he did is probably the easiest way to keep that from happening. We've had a few people do that out here too. I actually rallycrossed my talon for 3 seasons and never chipped a panel. I had more chips on the front of my hood from daily driving than I ever got from rallycross with any of my vehicles. And being that we are rwd, all the dirt is being kicked out behind us. I don't know, I guess I just love playing in the dirt. We work the Rally America rally's in MN and MI every year, so our cars get more pounding from driving on the stage roads out to our assignments than they ever do from rallycross. |

It's just scotch blue painters tape. I had never seen the lot where the even so i wasn't sue what kind of surface it was going to be and I didn't know how many rocks there were going to be. So I just covered the bottom half with the tape just as a precaution. I really didn't need it though.
