Fun with a Smart Car

Buddy of mine got a Smart car as a loaner so we took it out for some 'testing'. Weird car. It's built for getting good gas mileage, but uses premium fuel. The transmission is the slowest shifting I've ever experienced. The car handles OK given the small tires, but goodness is it slow! 20 seconds to 55MPH! Here's the video:

Hilarious.. lol, they seem slower then my MK2... are you coming to the autocross this saturday?

Not - not coming to the AutoX this weekend.

Your MK2 would BLOW a smart car away - it's at LEAST twice as fast.

I enjoyed the video, especially near the end when you were trying to make a right with all the cars flying by.

Seriously, can I rent one of these things? I totally want to drive one... Considered buying one for work

(I'd put a bike rack on it and tow my bike around with me everywhere at fourty-one miles per hour)

^ I think the aerodynamic drag of having the bike on it would drop it's top speed to like 35 mph.
