Got my Celica Beams MT ecu today
Looks to be in good condition, and the price was right @ $250 shipped, so I guess i'm safe to go pay for my beams engine/tranny. I'll gather my parts, and start the beams wiring harness just as soon as I finish Ncturnal's 2001 1mzfe wiring. It shouldn't be too much longer now.

lol!
I actually went there for vacation last year for a week. When we landed, the pilot asked me if I needed a "hook up" before even getting off the plane. |

Phoenix,
You had mentioned that it had become something of a problem to get beams parts in Japan and that it could take a few weeks to get some items. You said that some smaller outfits could not even get certain things. I am not surprised that this is the case. From what i have heard, retail distribution in Japan is not very efficient. Instead of having larger national retailers, everything is done through a series of little MaPa stores. Here in the US it takes about 2-3 weeks to get 20v stuff from the various toyota dealerships that specialize in it. Increasingly, US parts numbers are available for JDM parts. For example, you can buy a 4age 20v Blacktop timing belt at just about any toyota dealership, even though there is no usdm equivalent. With all the cars the beams 3sge went into, the number of available engines in the US should increase greatly in the next few years. Seven years ago, you had to jump through these same hoops just to do a 20v silvertop conversion. Now there are 5 or 6 20v ecus on ebay at any given time. |

You'd be amazed at the car scene in Jamaica!
Some seriously quick cars have come from there, and they have a good selection of cars too. |
