Finally got the beams to pass emissions

When I had the swap done back in August ,the cataylatic converter was not installed in the new exhaust. But I thought my emissions problems were going to be in the lack of EGR. So I put a toyota spec cat & still got basically the same numbers as no cat at all. Next , tried one off a camry. Better numbers but still didn't pass. So I took the celica to a state certified emissions tech. He put an oversized volvo cat on & got good numbers.

Getting 3sge's to pass tailpipe tests is not too difficult. My gen2 passed Atlanta emissions no problem. RI probably has a bit tougher test though, but as long as the motor is running right, there should be no reason for the 3sge's not to pass.

Is Atlanta different than Savanah? Southern Car Customs did the work on the car. They told me Georgia had no emissions test. That's why I had no cat.

You had the black convertible celica at the Colt state Park meet. I remember seeing it there. If its was u. The engine looked good in the celica.

Yea, that was me. The car is my wife's but she can no longer drive. She's got ALS.
I remember you. Didn't you lose part of your exhaust on 195? And you sold your car to Brian. We were @ Ed's first meet&meat in October.

Atlanta has emissions, the rest of the state doesn't as far as I know.
