Where to find a Beams Redtop Engine......

A lot of people ask where to find a Beams Redtop Engine or full Clip in the states, so from my research, this is what I’ve found. If you know of a place that can get or stock them regularly please feel free and contribute that information to this thread.

MR2Board
www.MR2Board.com
If you don’t know what this website is, sit back and take a look at your screen cause your looking at it If you check out the parts for sale section on the main forum page, occasionally you find a Beams Redtop item for sale or similar engine like the Grey Top Beams Engine.

PA Autoracing (aka MR2Warehouse)
www.mr2warehouse.com
The MR2Warehouse is located in Pennsylvania, they regularly have a Beams Redtop engine in stock, or on the way. They are experienced in swapping the JDM Beams Engine into a USDM MR2.

Chico Raceworks
www.chicoraceworks.com
Chicoraceworks is located in Northern California, although there website does not say if they have a Beams Redtop in stock, they are importers of MR2 clips, so they can probably get you one.

Ebay
www.ebay.com
Ebay, as you all know, is the biggest online auctions on the internet. Specifically, look up a member who’s name, and online name, is KeithTau (Keith Tau). He usually has a Beams engine for sale. He is however located in Hong Kong, so usually it takes a few months to get your engine.

MR2 Trader
www.MR2Trader.com
MR2Trader.com is the biggest online classifieds website for the Toyota MR2. Although finding a Beams on there isn’t common, I have seen MR2’s with Beams installed for sale on there before.

Best Japanese Engine here in Atlanta currently has a greytop. This is where I purchased my redtop. I spoke with the owner, and he said that they would try to get a few more in, though currently they only have the one. It was from an automatic Caldina and is basically just the motor. It's been sitting around the warehouse for a long time, so it is externally a little bit beat up and will probably need a few additional items (for example the vvti solenoid). On the other hand, they would probably let it go cheap. Wiring is cut, and there is no ecu, just the way that I like them.

They said that they would be getting a container in in about 2 weeks, so we will see if they are serious about stocking these motors. They had a glut of 20v's as well. Because i've been sending people up there, those have mostly cleared out.

The number is (770) 426-5755. Sometimes it helps if you tell them Doug sent you since pricing is shoot from the hip. I guess then they assume that i'll be doing the wiring and won't have to answer a bunch of questions about how to get a nonstandard swap running.

With Doug's help, we should be able to offer a turnkey swap for the 20v and Beams, and maybe even some V6's.

No, no website. They mostly deal locally here in Atlanta. That makes it hard for them to move stuff like beams 3sge's.

Generally, engines are available. The ecu's to run them are nearly impossible to find. It took me forever to get mine.

Thats another issue that has to be addressed, where to get ecu's more easily?

Well for those you out ther unable to find a Beams and have a lot of money you can always build your own .
For starters the long block is 1900088606 at $7815 Aussie $6400 USD
and the gear box is 3030017151 at $3565 Aussie $2900 USD
Well there you go $9,300 USD THEN START TO ADD THE REST.
But at least if your desire is to have one its still possible.
START SAVING
