Love your work MR220V.
![]() Thanks. I've almost completed my redtop > altezza pinout comparison, I just needed to know what those last few were for. It looks like I might have a few interesting problems! The Altezza doesnt have an air idle bypass for the throttle. since it has the throttle plate controlled by a stepper motor, it adjusts the idle speed by manipulating the throttle plate angle. So I'm not quite sure how to get the redtop idle speed control working.... I could use an altezza throttle body on my carina, since I'm using altezza intake manifold anyway, but this wont work on my MR2. There's obviously a way around it though, or the brashboy ECU wouldnt exist. ![]() Also, the Atlezza ECU controls HEAPS more things than the redtop does! Heaps of things are going to be obsolete/redundant. like ABS, traction control, lots of aircon control, etc. |

I thought the two motors used the same basic idle control valve? The stepper motor on the blacktop TB was something else, not controled by the rsd pin.
That stepper motor and the extra vvti solenoid are the biggest obstacles to getting this to work. An aftermarket ecu should be less picky about missing stuff. I guess the only way to know for sure is to pin it up and see how it works. The pinouts didn't seem too different. |

Okay well attached is the comparison that I've made so far.
Would pay not to take it as gospel as of yet, I'm gonna proof check it a few times before I do anything with it. However please note that since my altezza pinout shows 5 plugs going into the ECU (5th plug in the middle is for auto only) my pins are labelled ABCDE, with 'C' being the middle plug. (As this is how they are shown on the altezza pinout... so redtop 'C' pins have been moved to 'D' pins, and 'D' pins are shown as 'E' pins) |
