OK finally received the REAL BEAMS manifold:
The pipes on this are not as thick as the 3SGE Gen 3 header, they're only 2cm thick! Still the workman ship is just as good. It also only uses the left hand bracket to hold the manifold on rather then both on the original (guess thats a little more less weight ) and as the dimensions are the same as the stock one (only lighter and different path) it means your original B-pipe bolts right up without any modification unless you wish to go bigger of course!Anyone know what I can use to polish this baby up? Steel wool? I dunno! |

Cermachrome will look nice. I know you can get headers done in the states for about $130 bucks.
Can we get a cliff's notes on this thread...... What has the conclusion of this research come out too? Will other Gen 3S-GE's or even 3S-GTE's headers/exhaust manifolds fit the Beams engine? |

Don't I feel like an idiot!!!
I went to the page and they list part # 76592 (97/12 99/10) as 5 bolt VVTi header just like the picture. I guess what got you is that they list 76591 as VVTi as well! Thanks, Marco Last edited by Marco69; 05-22-2007 at 02:26 PM.. |

They originally never had our 98/99 VVTi part number on there untill I quized them about getting the right item sent out. It was that other part number for the 96/97 with VVTi that i got tricked on thinking it was the same. So yeah atleast the part number we all need is there now!
I would say Phoenix that 98/99 BEAMS models are all only 5 bolt and there is no other manifold that we've spoken about that would fit. Puretone that header that Malki has on his 6th gen is the phoenix one I have now... read his spec sheet its on there! Can anyone confirm if the greytop BEAMS has a 5 bolt header or 6 bolt like I originally got? |

Im baffled, because there is a current member of the beams community who has a turboed Beams (The guy in Ireland, with the Celica). I talked to him the other night, and he stated that his manifold, was cast, not steel/tubular.
This is why Im baffled with the whole thing, and have asked this question many times. Hopefully, I can get some pics from him, and figure it out from there. |

I'm having a header and bpipe combo made right now. It will be compatible with off the shelf obx bpipes.
The guy who makes it will be offering more for sale once we get the kinks worked out. The price should be around $300-$400. Pretty good considering it will cost you $200+ just to get a custom bpipe made at a typical muffler shop. Also a very nice option for people who are running the caldina motor and want to get rid of the manifold/cat combo. Hopefully i'll have some pics of it in the next week or two. |

Hey the BEAMS deserved to be blinged alight!
![]() Puretone the double fan was a b!tch to mount thou ay haha only just got clearence with the new manifold but damn this puppy cools very well, runs atleast 10 degrees cooler now and the fans have that feature where they still cool even after turning the car off sort of like a turbo timer for turbos. I think the new Hondas have this feature too! I took some footage/audio tonight in the car from my mobile so Ill see whats worth putting up and show yas all! |

Aaah long time no post/forum browsing (Damn real life stuff going on! *shakes fist*)
Okay today I pulled all of the heat wrap off my exhaust manifold, which is/was alledgedly a TOMS manifold. Well it's definitely not the standard manifold, OR the pheonix power one! The pipes are made from welded segments of pipe, and the first stub sections coming off the flange are all straight, and then bend into curves etc onwards from there. The weld positions are different to pheonix power ones. I'll snap some pics tomorrow. ![]() So there's definitely another aftermarket manifold option, I wonder if it really is a TOMS one, or something else again? |
