Beams and 3SGTE interchangeable parts?

Obviously the cams and the turbo setup can't be directly swapped over. What can you put into a Beams that you would a 3SGTE? Is the bottom end the same? Could you put in a 2.2 stroker? Can you use the same valve springs? What about head studs? I can't think of any thing else now. What do you think?

I'm asking because in a few months, maybe a year+, I'm going to be building a blacktop powered Corolla (ae86). The thing is, I want it ad ass. Although a beams 86 is already, I want to take it a step further. Such as a 2.2 ITB setup.

I know it's an MR2 message board, but engine knowledge is engine knowledge. Thanks.

Why not consider a GenIV 3SGTE? I heard those engine were VVT-i, but someone might be able to confirm otherwise. If they were, you'd essentially have a BEAMS 3SGTE. kblake from ATS Racing might know, I think he's worked with a GenIV in a Caldina recently.
