i only came to this idea after i noticed my engine running ALOT stronger on a cooler night with a bit of rain....so now im considering water/alcohol injection as well....
Nitrous Express Intercooler Sprayer is Cheaper......aside from re-filling the bottle, but you shouldnt use it that much.

The easiest way to cool the intake charge is to use a plastic intake manifold. Plastic is an insulator rather than a conductor ... cheaper too. It's also smoother for better flow.

Stainless works the same way, and looks better than plastic.

A 350Z will pull a +05 Mustang GT (they have a 3.54 Final Drive Ratio), 350Z are pretty nice and light weight for their class. If you want to figure it out just do the math of the power to weight ratio. Look on autotrader/edmunds.com for weights. as for power 03-05 had 287 hp at the crank and 274 ftlbs of tq for both manuals and automatics. 06 had 300 hp 264lbfts of tq. for manual only autos still had the 287hp engine. All +07's (autos + manuals) have the revised VQ35HR as opposed to the VQ35DE and have 306hp 268ftlbs of tq think of it as a Nissan V6 Beams. Final verdict: its probably an auto 287 hp model which is entirely possible to beat in a Beams as now for a Hardtop manual i think it would be close they both pull low 14s in the quater mile though other than that i think the Z would probably get it top end.

Puretone you should do a water/alcohol it works wonderful for turbo and will help keep temps down silghty and gain some power. If you really want to keep temps down look into a aquamist system.

MR220V im surprised that you like and even know what a NX2000 is! I love those, wish they werent so hard to find though. I think a classic 240Z with either a SR swap, or RB swap would be awesome which why its going to be part of my much dreamed of classic collection along with an old 510 aww now you got my nissan side aching!!!

You have stated something l have never heard. Has someone ever put an intercooler on an N/A engine ?
Does it work with positives or just wasted money.
..I bounced this idea off a couple of tuners I know last year. Basically we could see a potential benefit if a charge cooler was used. But an intercooler will probably only just cool back to ambient temp and possibly introduce some flow losses on an N/A -so better just to position your intake in cool ambient air in the first place.

Would be good to see one dyno'd before and after though, just out of interest to record what it would do.

I used to work with nothing but the 05+ mustang gt's and they aren't even quick stock. A kid in a 5sfe car with intake, exhaust, and headers beat one of our shop cars (before any mods were done to the gt) and while not by much, he pulled on the gt through 3rd gear then lifted.

The beams has more power and should have no problem beating a stock 350z by a couple car lengths.

What are you talking about? The 150 top speed takes forever to reach stock, 13.5 I have never seen out of a stock gt, the best at sea level with a good driver that I have actually seen was 13.8. Not calling you a liar, just curious as to where you are getting your info from.

Here car and driver got a 13.8
Ford Mustang GT - - Car and Driver - December 2004
And here road and track got a 13.6
http://www.motortrend.com/roadtests/...ecs_price.html
But I have seen other people with a 13.5. Now im not sure why people think a beams motor is so magical cause 197hp is 197 hp thats it. The 91 turbo 3sgte has more hp and doesnt do a mid 13 1/4 mile so I dont know why the hell people think a NA motor with less hp will. Idk I guess some people live a pipe dream. Maybe he thought he was racing and really the dude was only half throttle or wasnt even getting in it at all lol

The probem is, we are not talking about the mustang, we are talking about a beams car beating a 350z. Hell, my little jetta 1.8t keeps up with stock z's and it's stock!

^2 different motors, same platform. I'm not impressed.

Don't know why it's hard to believe a beams mk2 would be a match for a 350z. The 350 weighs almost 1000lbs more in some cases. It's a fat 2 seater.

If I'm getting a v8, I'm getting a vette.

Because weight doesnt mean everything. Look at the srt8 chargers. Weighs 4,277lbs and does a 13.5 sec 1/4!! the gto 3,777lbs and does a 13.3 1/4 mile. Thats over a 1000lbs more than a mr2 and getting close to 2K for the srt8!
2006 Dodge Charger SRT8 Vs. 2005 Pontiac GTO - Engine, Chassis, Dimensions, Price, Warranty & Performance - Sport Coupes Comparison - Motor Trend
And yeah I know we're talking about you beating a 350Z but at the sametime ur also pointing out how its weight is going to have a ill effect on it and thats why its slow. So im just making a point.
