getting parts for beams motor

How easy/difficult is it to buy a coil pack/ignitor for the beams motor? Could I get them at any US toyota parts dealer? Anyone have the part #'s? Any misc wiring I would need to make them work on the motor? Thanks for your help guys.

There are other coils that would physically work, but don't fit quite right. The 1zz coils might work and be the best fit.

We tried searching the beams coil part#'s, but weren't able to find a US listing on that particular #.

Like I say, it's likely that the 1zz or 2zz coils will fit a little better. 2001+ 1mz coils work, they are just too tall.

Here are some cheap auctions for greytops on ebay:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/JDM-3...spagenameZWDVW

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/TOYOT...spagenameZWDVW

and then there is that one at Best Japanese Engine.

If you'd like to see mine in action, I'm in the atlanta area. If you decide to go through with it I can supply you with a wiring harness.

well i was planning on getting that beams motor in the first link but it doesn't come with the coil pack/igniter. would you happen to have the japanese part# for them then if not a US equivalent? When you say the 01+1mz coils work but are too tall, does that mean they wont fit in the engine bay of an mr2? Thanks ps. how much for a wiring harness?

What makes you say it doesn't come with the coilpacks?

The auction doesn't say that they have been removed? You can't see them in the pics because they are underneath the valvecover's cover. I would assume that they are there unless otherwise stated.

Its a 200hp NA 3sge. Faster than a stock usdm 3sgte and all the reliability of being NA. It's a great swap for a 5sfe.

I asked the seller about them and he said it didn't come with the coils/igniter so that's why I asked on here how hard it would be to obtain them.

Hey buddy ,
l can help you with any part number you want. Just be specific.
You do realise it is an Auto your looking at.
With the part numbers your going to probably have to ask your Toyota dealer to add them to their system before they can order. Dont know if the would be willing to do that.

Cheers

I inquired about the same auction. Instead, this time I asked "have the coilpacks been removed". The seller responded that he couldn't see if they were or not.

So maybe he was just confused when you asked him about a coil/igniters. With older motors, there is a seperate coil and igniter. I'm thinking that this is what he thought you meant.

yea, i'm fine with it being an auto. But that doesn't affect the coil/igniter part # does it?

mr220v - on the beams motor, you said the coils were on the motor under the valve cover?

I'll ask my local toyota parts dealer to see if they can get them with that #. Thanks for all the responses and help guys!

Anyone have an english BGB for the beams? even a UK IS200 version?

Hi There,
If the engine you are looking at is a black top the ignitors have a different part number to that of the red top , its
90919-02236. Is it the same as the red top , l DONT know . l have not Seen them side by side, But the part numbers are different on the EPC.
There will be heaps of parts that are interchangeable b/w the various BEAMS engines , and unless l have seen them physicaly side by side l wouldn't like to comment. If someone has PLEASE interject.
All l go by is the EPC.

CHEERS
