Aftermarket exhaust system... What you got???

Well, next week my Beams will be away to get a full decat system. Its stainless steel, custom made.

Will i have any issues with this working along side my SARD intake?

Cheers

Why do you think the Sard intake will have any performance issue with a exhaust system? What are your main true concerns with the MODs?

RST was running a blueflame on his car, it ran 180fwhp on the dastek dyno - then he fitted this intake kit and the car managed 195ish fwhp.

So going from experience, it'll work great, infact it seems to be the only induction kit that can offer an improvement over the airbox without an aftemarket ecu/piggyback to correct the fuelling.

You may or may not notice a slight drop in low down torque and you may or may not run quite as smooth as with the airbox fitted. Thats about the only downside.

And reset your ecu after fitting - this should iron out any slight hiccups, should they arrise.

AND i'm a bit jealous - cos i went and fitted an hks pod onto a custom SS intake pipe(the one i warned you not to get just yet from stainless creations). A full phoenix's exhaust(including manifold and DP) and an apexi PFC and only managed 2fwhp more than RTS's setup.

But more mapping for the new exhaust(and some other minor tweeks) should see me comfortably back in front........... I hope.

Was at Rogue last Tuesday and asking Patrick about the Blue Flame exhausts as I've never been convinced about the build quality -it's squint and assymetrical which appears to be the norm. There's no difference between the Blue Flame and Mongoose from Rogue apart from the tips and a few ££ -in fact I am told Blue Flame used to make Mongoose exhausts but alas no more due to Q/C issues. If you want a twin exit and at a reasonable cost then I'd go for a Mongoose -at least I'm considering replacing mine at the moment for that one although I personally prefer the rolled tips of the Blue Flame.

...make sure you get a set of gaskets from Toyota beforehand as my exhaust never turned up with any despite checking beforehand.

...Check out custom S/S build-ups as well. I was surprised they only seem to cost a little bit more than off-the shelf stuff these days. My mate in Linlithgow went to a place in Stirling for one for his Astra coupe but I can't remember where.

Richard

(meant to add -there was no negatives with my mods -just 2 plusses when it came to exhaust and filter -I ran the Blue Flame when I had my original rev 2 3SGE and it did feel a bit more punchy with it fitted)

J-1,

It takes just a few seconds -look in the engine bay fuse compartment (located in the rear rear NS). Look for "ECU" fuse on the cover (it's marked) and remove the corresponding fuse underneath for a minute. Then put the fuse back in. Job done -I never realised how easy it was until I did it the other week.

That easy eh?!

Will get that done after the SARD kit is on along with the decat system!

Cheers
