RED TOP MANUAL

Before starting my project l found it necessary to locate a RED TOP MANUAL.
This was a concern to me as we were going to put about 1000 peices together. After extensive searching bribing and begging , with good contacts l was able to get one a hard copy. It was in TOYOTA archieve but alas the only one left.
Now the good news through my contacts i can get CD versions of the manual and also other versions of the MR2 series. 91 -98 on the one CD . They include all engine specifications , torque figures and lay out.
These ARE NOT COPIES they are originals, EVEN though it looks likw Toyota just scanned the pages. I will advertise in the for sale forum close to $100 each freight included to anywhere in the world. What i need to know is how many to get roughly and given the number pricing will be reduced. l will however give a free copy to anyone who can put a scanned pdf file into a word format so that one of the many programs available can be used to translate.

That comment scares me. I have spent so much money and time trying get as much info on the Beams to help the community. 5 CD's have roughly cost me $1,200 . Countless number of calls bottles of wine couriering and to ship.
So even though ( i would never copy ) l should give out a CD which no-one has ever been able to get so it can copied for free and totally abortioned on ebay ? Looks like l might have swallow the loss and not give out the CD's
But if anyone needs help l will answer all questions.
Whats sad really is that l also got the ST202 SS3 MANUAL which has the limited edition of the BEAMS.

LOL dude chill, I for one would not hawk it on eBay, I'd just make some of us beg on knees & demand some fan-pics of our BEAMS-members sprawled out over our even sessier RedTops....or something ridiculous like that

try cloneCD, x-copy or something, it should let you....

i would def pay 300-ish $ for a CD that will add to my BEAMS craze tho...that is IF its ST202 BEAMS...

Mate, I'm afraid most computer literate folk I know would be able to rip it off in a few minutes as well. I don't know how but apparently it's not hard. Personally I'd pay the cash for the CD and point anyone else who wants one in the right direction, I don't believe in rip-offs if someone's gone to the hassle. I can guess the situation you're in.

why dont you put together a list of those who want the original discs, get all the payments in, and then once you have that, send them out once you have those payments, those who are willing to pay get the nice originals, you get some of your investment back, and well you just cant stop those who want to sell copies. I'm really not sure there is much of a market for it though.

that way, everyone gets something out of this situation.

This is true. Im just a bit naive about the whole computer copying thing.
Saw that there was a few people wanting to convert the grey tops to the RED TOPs and a manual would be benefitial especially for a rebuild. Also the countless other things that are on the repair manual. Window of opportunity has come and gone unfortunately. For so long people were asking where to get a manual. Oh well its ok. Sold the manuals to workshops which had no hesitation to buy them given that they have never seen them especially the Celica one given that car is more prvelent here.

can you tell us anything about the special edition beams in the st202?, I noticed a while back there is two different sets of pistons in the toyota epc for the st202 redtop, i wondered if it was a revision but maybe this would explain it?

Ok puretone,
TIME TO START TO BEG.
I have the whole celica file 92 - 98 including the RED TOP option and everything else in my hot little hand. Workshop, extras, etc. What is it worth do you reckon ? ( little devil sign goes here )
I looked over it just breifily at work and gee its pretty useful when having the MR2 one by its side as seeing where the differences are., engine wiring etc.
