6 speed gear box for Beams ?

I don't know if this has crossed anyone's mind; using the internal parts from the 4A-GE Black top's 6 speed gear box in the 3S gear box housing ? I'm talking about FF configuration here.

It's kinda wild idea but has anyone thought or tried it out ? Will it work ?

Appreciate all the feedback from the experts on this crazy idea...

No it doesnt fit in there at all its been discussed cause many people complain about the S54 gearing to be to short. You might be better off looking at this thread about swapping in a lower ratio 5th if you want lower RPMS.

Good idea but haven't had much thought about it because the 2ZZ-GE is rare item in my place.

2zzge 6sp tranny will not fit .....

2ZZ-GE have C-series gearobox:

C60 ratio 4.529 used in celica T231 and ZZE123R (Sportivo)
C64 - Lotus Elise S2 LSD was option ... standard in late models ...

simply BEAMS will not fit C-series gear-box ....

I have one of those 4.933 final drives, i hope your freind has an E56 gearbox as thats what its meant for, not sure if it will fit an s54, fortunatly i have an e56 that i've just started stripping down to fit swap the final drive over but i dont know if i'm going to use it or not.

wow that says for ST202 Celica which never had a E153 so it would have to be for a S54 but i never new of aftermarket ratios for the S54. Im sure acceleration is hard but i would hate to drive that on the Highway!

no its not for an s54, note it says for the st202/st206 carina and note the "4.235" mentioned which is the stock E56 final drive not the "4.176" of an s54.

The E56 came in pre beams superstrut celica's, many st202 carinas etc between 95 and 97. The e56 also came with the 4a-gze in the ae101/aw11 but with a different bell housing to match the a series block.

Ah i didnt see the ST206 but then again i cant read kanji! I forgot all about the GT4/All trac Celicas those did come with e153's and i have seen plently of revised gear ratios for the gearbox. I was thinking only about NA's for some reason completely went blank on the turbos.

well if it works pasqual then please let me know, there are some differences between the output shafts, not to say it wont fit but they are different between E56 and S54.
