Just finished my BEAMS MK1 :-).... I can just pass people on the freeway on 5th gear no need to down shift :-P... One question is that what ALT bracket fit the BEAMS in the celica front position because currently my is above the passenger axle and it hit the body on hard launch. Would the 5sfe Alt fit up there?
Thanks, |

you can get a alternator bracket from a gen 2 mr2 so you can run it underneath the intake manifold. I'm not sure if a 5sfe bracket will work but a 3sge one should work.

If you live in the states the older celica has a bracket or the jdm celica turbo 3sgte. There are more but that is a quick list.

Sorry i mis-read your post! I thought it was hitting the front firewall and i sat thinking to my self that shouldnt happen he must have worn out motor mounts. Yes your alternator is running in the MR2 position and what you would want to do is move it to the celica position on the right side of the motor instead of the left side like it currently is. Ask mr2mkii i know he has a spare BEAMS motor so he might have the celica bracket.

Ok I got the motor about an hour ago. It looks really good the block looks brand new. I'll post pictures later. You sure you got the one from the auction because mine looks like it.
I pretty much pissed myself when it got. Man I so exicted to finally have it here!! I can't wait till I can drive it but I'm going to have to buy some stuff before I can get it in. |

small things really. My upper cam cover is broken, I think a sensor that's on the back of the head by runner 1 is busted, also one of my wiring connectors is busted. I'll post pics in the other thread but like I said minor things really. I also replied to your MSG.

But my exictement is gone from recieving it friday. In my excitement on friday i had failed to make sure everything was there so later that night it hit me. I looked thru those photos and didnt find it. Went to the shop saturday and looked for it but to no avail so it never got sent. What is it? Its the ECU. I didnt get a G-DAMN ECU!!!
I have to call them this morning and find out where it is. It was in the discription of the auction, i have pictures of a motor with a ecu on the valve cover that was used in the auction i won, i also printed out the auction page and have a saved html ver on my computer so I WILL get a ECU. My biggest worry is that Brad who also bought a BEAMS from the same company and got the one pictured in the auction got the only one with a ECU. I will be highly upset to hear from the compnay that they only had one motorset that had a ECU. |
