attached = GT4 WRC turbo manifold, doesn't that look suspiciously alot like our exhaust manifolds? Except for the bolt paterns then....

I put a T on/from the TB to the one that runs to the EVAP/Cannister, you know that one that has the solenoid on it..... it's got vac on it at all times

Assuming that the 2 items that you need to get a vacuum source for are the map sensor & bypass valve. Here's what I'd recommend:

Don't 'T' the MAP sensor to anything. Run it directly off that extra nipple on the manifold.

The bypass can be connected via a 'T' to any source that is 'behind' the throttle body. You can use the brake booster line, any evap/emissions vacuum line that gets vacuum from the intake manifold, or even the pcv hose (connects the valve cover to intake manifold). If it's connected to a hose or spot that see's gets vacuum from the intake piping, the bypass valve won't operate correctly.

Here is the beginning of the ROTRX bracket. You can see that there is plenty of room once there isnt the alternator. Also all those threaded holes on the block make wonderfull positions to mount any brackets

Thanks to the CELICA guys and the MR2 guys that put a Celica BEAMS in their MR2 's.
Beacause with out them l would have never had thought of this route

Another thing about the BEAMS engine there is another mistery , look at the dent on the end of the inlet manifold . Why is it there? It doesnt interfer with anything but its there. Maybe it does on the Celica or its the crazy Japanese research guys or it was planned for a new model just like the nipple

Totally forgot you have that extra nipple on the intake manifold, you can get your vac source there for the blow off would probably be pretty stealthy too lol.
I will have to look at my manifold and see if the intake I have has that dent too, mine's from a ST202 SS3 Celica, it *could* possibly be a bit of extra clearance for the brake booster that would sit about there on the Celica's
(assuming the MR2 & Celica manifolds are one size fits all type deal and they don't make specific manifolds for either car model)

see where the bundle of plugs is at? that's where the brake booster sat on the JDM RHD ST202:

Yeh ill use that nipple for the MAP and the nipple on top of the throttle ill tee that one for the BOV

ROTREX bracket is just about finished. Its off to the CNC on Saturday. Im using a BIG block of aluminium and #### its dear. Its going to be machined slowly with every stage test fitted.
Important that the Rotrex is mounted to the engine + or - 15 degrees to level. Its in the instructions.
My barrel A/W has been ordered , also with custom in and outs 2 inch. The unit is a 5 x 6 and good for 400 horses

Ok my MDF bracket is just about finished . It will be off to the engineers so it can be CNC in aluminium.
Ordered my A/W intercooler . Unit is 5 x 6 inch barrel good for 400 horses.
Hey noticed another thing if you look at the inlet manifold at eye level you will see the surge tank get narrower as you move away from the throttle body. Gee these Japs really thought of everything.

ooooooooooooh thats what you meant! now i gets it.
yeah thats done on those high dollar mitsubishi evo intakes too, i assume its for the volume of air being pushed/sucked in to even out the pressure.....altho i am almost certain toyota engine nerds probably have some intake-air-wave-resonation-frequency-to-horsepower/torque-ratio-at-various-RPM-ranges graph to make us all look like total flightless-kiwi's, explaining how & why they did that to the intake.

Yeah, they probably do.

For anyone that's reading that isn't getting what's being said... Since the air is feeding in one side of the manifold to all 4 intake runners, as you get further away from that side you need less and less volume to supply each remaining cylinder as it flows. By reducing volume from throttle body to the backside of the plenum they're increasing the velocity to the runners. Or at least that's the assumption we are making.
