It's the Condenser, sometimes called the Radio Filter. It helps eliminate EM pulses/frequencies from the firing of the ignition coils to 'quiet' engine noise/static for the radio. It's in this diagram: http://i14.tinypic.com/6ta3vqb.jpg Thanks to phoenix, from here: http://www.mr2.com/forums/beams/Toyo...g-diagram.html Andrew |

Great news found the part number to the Gasket on the head behind the alternator bracket
11229-88560 ![]() Also looks like the 2zz rods are beefier than the Beams. They look more like 1zz rods |

Next in Australia the N/A still gets the engine fan.
Well the inlet is where im going to place my oil cooler for my Rotrex. Im also going to fan cool it. Going with the fan kit of the Setrab. Great deal as my mechanic is the Aussie ditributor. The Motec will turn it on at low temp approx 30 degrees celcius. The most important thing on the Rotrex is to keep the oil temp down. Been told that the oil doesnt get hot but just in case , over engineering. The same fan obviously will also cool the engine compartment but the OEM wiring to the fan will not be pluged in as you cant have to power circuits going to one fan unless i add a diode. But anyway the OEM fan doesnt come on until 62 degrees |

Many thanks to mr220v and PHOENIX with the wiring.
Motec installer is loving the extension i did. In actual fact he has it so he can do the splicing. ![]() As you can imagine since the alternator is on the other side so is some of the wiring. Rather than cut the harness im just disconnecting and rerouting new wire, power , sensing altenator. Unfortunately one wire needs to be elongated , the crank angle senor wire. All the other auxillary wires will be split loomed into the factory wire |

Filled up gearbox oil... No leaks, woohoo! Filled up the engine coolant... Leaking like a sieve. ![]() Including from behind the celica alternator bracket. (woops) I found the gasket for it sitting on top of the fridge in the garage... Put it in, tightened 1/2 a dozen hose clamps or other areas where it was leaking, and haha now no leaks. Moral of the story: (and purpose of sidetracking discussion) You definitely need that gasket to stop a water leak. ![]() Last edited by Roman; 01-20-2009 at 06:08 AM.. |

Really need some good advise on this one , FUEL PUMP.
OK have bought the Walbro 255 but my question is this. The factory GEN 3 turbo has 540 cc injectors as i will also. The factory Gen 3 has factory 13 pounds boost. Well its ok for factory MR2. Since im only going for 8 Pounds max couldnt i just use the GEN 3 fuel pump ? l also have a OEM GEN 3 regulator. Call me silly but i like Toyota parts. |

Silly. Seriously tho, you'd probably like the Walbro for 120% performance, though it might be overkill. Do remember you might wanna beef up the wires that run to the pump if you do end up using the Walbro. The OEM Fuel Regulator you will use will provide close to the same average pressure no matter which pump you use. Do understand that pressure from the pump will vary given how much current you end up producing throughout the rev range. This will indeed play with your AF Ratios...11 volts to any pump will push less fuel than 13-14 volts will....unless of course if you end up installing some form of a voltage regulator for the pump as to garantee 12 volts no matter what the engine is doing. Bosch/Walbro/OEM pump doing 190lph could even be enough, but I am all for over building for safety. I'd go with an adjustable FPR as well, just to give it another angle for tunability.....but that's just me. |
