Yeh banjo bolt.
Im using senders as ive got the MoTex MMD display. Can monitor everything from the front. Neat way im installing it. Lot of people would be suprised in me changing my OEM stereo to another OEM stereo but there is a reason. Firstly , looks stock . Second is that im getting the CD fold down screen the one with the pull out GPS unit. Throw the GPS out and permantely install the MMD. |

All additions on the fuel rail. Everything clears

Well i had a good hard look at the piping i did for the OEM catch can and it just didnt have an OEM look. Im my worst critic
![]() After looking all around the world to get a custom hose made you wouldnt believe it that a very large company that supplies OEM hoses, engine mount etc are literally around the corner 3 kms away ! So i went to vist them with a drawing and now i have it. Just waiting for the other piece. ![]() ![]() Last edited by MANDALAY; 10-11-2009 at 09:38 AM.. |

I have to say i am absolutely blown away with your attention to detail buddy seriously impressive!!!!
I am in the sways of sticking the TRD Scion charger onto my 3VZ-FE converted MR2 and using your build here for some seriously good ideas. It looks like you're not far from the finishing post but imagine there's still a lot more to go before turn-key! |

Well got the other hose made will post pic soon. For anyone who wants them the are available just MP me.
Now back to the car. All my under trays are off. Had a good look underneith. Im not going to do the fuel pump swap myself, ill do it when the enging is going it. Found the location for the water pump for my A/W set up. Under the left guard near the A/C expander. Another bracket ! Piping the 2 water lines to the back is going to be a royal PITA. The front section and rear section is ok, with solid pipe and hose but its the middle section. Maybe there will be enough clearance b/w the top of the fuel tank and the body ? Oh well will do those sections first. Also did a few other thinks to make it look more oem ![]() |

The hand brake mechanism is a real PAIN in the way, Haveing the A/W water lines close to the engine coolant will defeat the purpose , so the real only way is to run the 2 pipes out side the trays but i really dont like that idea.
So i want to make my own trays that will have a raised section 1 x 2 inch for the solid pipes which will be held by brackets so it will all be covered. I can do the fibreglassing BUT want to do it in carbon fibre with vinyl ester which will light and only start to deform at 180 degrees celcius not like normal polyester which deforms at 50 degrees................... But Carbon fibre conducts and wonder if it will be a problem next to the fuel tank ?????????? Anyone want to share any light on that. Yes i now F1 cars and the Mclaren are CF |

Again with the theme OEM i looked at the coolant reservoir for the A/W water set up that i made. Well your going to think im nuts but i wanted a plastic bottle as its not under pressure at all.
I spent a whole day at the wreckers to see all the radiator water bottles of every dam type of car. I needed on that would fit and have the shape that i needed so as to add nipples , clear the brake booster pipe and follow the contours of the MR2. GEE I MUST OF LOOKED AT AROUND 200 OF THEM ! None were going to be of any use. Well my crappy 25 year old corolla was running hot so i had to add some coolant, and blow me down with a feather ! There was the bootle that would fit. Well this was a Aussie made car so when i rang Toyota it was a NO GO . Car too old. Then after searching my EPC i noticed that the Sprinter was the same shape. So i ordered it . Man this is a 25 tear old item and Toyota still had it ![]() Well it came and i must tell you it is of a far greater quality than the Aussie one. Its much thicker approx 4 mm thick and has no internal webbing around the inside coners. Well i made 2 nipples and a third for the Temp sender. Now Plastics 101 PE cannot be glued so i had to make the nipples to go from the back with an o-ring. I have to make a bracket to hold the bottle now incorparating a flange to hold the nipples also for added strenght so as not to twist the plastic. Beleive me with the bottle being 4 mm thick there isnt any movement , but good to have added security. Oh well will post the pictures Also the pic of the Air supply to the BOV tap in from the brake booster line. Ill clamp them then add the protective rubber hose slipper. OH BTW the hose that is teed into the brake vac line is from the 3SGTE
It was just the perfect shape. It goes over the VVTi mechanism, doesnt get in the way of the Rotrex oil lines and straight into the solid line for the BOV . ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Last edited by MANDALAY; 05-13-2011 at 07:37 PM.. |

Spent the last 2 days looking at the underbody panels and how to make them.
Got to tell you its a real PITA. Why ? because they are made from PE and are thin. Also as soon as the bolts holding them in place are removed the bigger parts move ![]() The only way im going to be able to do this is make a jig out of MDF STRIPS. Bolt down L shaped MDF brackets to all the mounting holes then join all those brackets together with strips of MDF. Once set take the Jig off and bolt down the panel to the jig. Then i can cast the negative from the panel. Next add the bump to the negative . Finally the part can be mage. Man its a long process |

Hey I'm looking to do something similar to how you've added the fittings to the water bottle...
Is there a nut which goes on the inside that it screws into, or how are the fittings held on? How would you tighten the nut at the back, when it's on the inside? |

Hey buddy
Have a look at the aluminium fittings on the back the diameter is bigger than the hole for the nipple. Also look really close and you will see a rebate for the o-ring. Must have that recess or else when you tighten it it will squeeze out. Make sure the hole is very tight on the fitting. It would have been easier but the size of the bottle opening determined the size on the back of the fitting. Next drop the fitting into the bottle and jiggle it to the opening and pull through. Next thick washer then nut. To stop it turning when tightening use a pair of vise grips on the nipple. It was a very good bottle in so far that the seams in manufacturing were smooth with no valley or peak. If there is you have to flaten it down or the o-ring will not give you the seal. Blow up the pictures of the fittings and you will get a better picture. |
