Just noticed something. Another UPDATE on Toyota part.
Well This is the second tme ive bought a new crank pulley. Well the first one was ex stock. This second one out of Japan is lighter because there is a cross in the center as oppossed to solid. Well they have updated it. Any way this new unit will be for sale once i get my custom one. BTW update on the crank pulley. These guys know their stuff. Apparently the have made heaps of them for race cars using the 3SGE ![]() Anyway what they are going to do is make the SC section with a 6 v belt and solid mount to the crankshaft whereas the front section with the 4 v belt which will do the alternator and A/C compressor will have the dampener insert. This way he assures me that there will be no issues with the SC belt. But i have to wait 3 weeks He has a major show in Florida for 2 weeks. Also since he is going to extend the crank pulley and have all the figures he will mill me a new A/C and alternator pulley so as they perfectly align. |

This is the bracket to hold the coolant for the A/W intercooler set up.
I also puy a bracket over the nipples that holds on the braket to eliminate any chance of bending. Also pics as it sits in my car. The shape of this 85 corolla water bottle is great ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Last edited by MANDALAY; 05-13-2011 at 07:41 PM.. |

Got my new pullies made. Absolutely awsome , gee these guys know their stuff.
Well had to take my air con compressor pulley off. WHAT A MAJOR PITA. Had to make a few jigs. Also to mount the new pully i have to reverse counter sink the bolts 5 m thread for clearance as the oem unit is just pressed on studs. Try finding that tool! doesnt exist. Once its anodized ill post pics........... Also my aluminium piping for the A/W intercooler are made. |

Aluminium piping for my A/W intercooler set up.
From the front to the back. Pic 1 from the air con expander tank side. This is also where the FERRARI compressor and air horns will be located Pic 2 the other side where the Bosch water pump will be located Pic 3 passing the frunk Then hose couplings to the section that runs underneath the fuel tank Pic 4 and 5 under the fuel tank Pic 6 coming into the engine compartment. Bends near the engine mount then clears the factory hoses and gear box links Pic 7 showing wgere it exits. Hoses then connect it the the aluminium pipes connected to the engine. Needed to make sure i cleared the air box , resonators , hoses and the final location for my oil catch can ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Last edited by MANDALAY; 10-16-2011 at 04:11 AM.. |

Run into a delay
![]() It was great that Toyota added the Beams into the MR2 BUT Changing the timing belt is hard because of the proximity of the camshaft pulley to the shock tower, But to take the head of the engine HAS TO BE DROPED Dam the cap bolts are under the wheel and you cant get to the bolt that holds the wheel. What a royal PITA. ![]() Last edited by MANDALAY; 12-26-2010 at 06:10 PM.. |

Hi Buddy!
Pipework looks superb! Being an engineer (CAD) of the last 20 years helps me appreciate how much work goes into something like this. Your build is truly epic and you've left no stone unturned and no detail unaddressed. With your piping i have one small concern; where it passes the front gearbox torque mount, is it still possible to remove that mount with those pipes there? Is yes all well and good. But if not - i am sure you don't want to be dropping those pipes off every time to change that mount or remove the engine. I would also suggest poly-bushing that mount at the very least. my V6 went through 2 stock mounts in around 2500 miles - you'll be chucking out waaaaay more torque than me!!!! ![]() Keep up the great work buddy!! finish line in sight!!! :th: |

Fill all mounts up with wind shield adhesive or any other super strong polyeurathane glue....best thing to happen to engine/tranny mounts since solid billet mounts!
Mine have held up perfect for around 50.000 miles now. Btw this in the not car-friendly weather of Aruba |

Thankyou for your comments. Really appreciate it. Had a really good look that the engine could still be dropped. The answer is yes. Just a bit unorthodox , instead of taking the pin ( bolt ) out ill be taking off the bolts that attach the bracket to the engine. At this stage im using new TRD mounts . Thanks for the heads up ![]() Oh your from UK , my front radiator is from Rogue. Even though is is ment for the MR2 our Air Con pipes are a bit different so i machined a couple of brackets so as to use the bolts on the air con radiator to hold the A/W radiator My old air con radiator with the brackets made to hold the A/W radiator. Used factory bolts to hold the brackets.BTW thats my old radiator that i kept so as to use it for measurements Last edited by MANDALAY; 03-14-2011 at 05:53 AM.. |

Few more pieces. These are truly amazing even for me. The quality is outstanding and the craftmanship !
Well i was slightly concerned that even with all the wrap around of the pulley for the SC i still might have slip at the upper rev range with a 4 v belt So i decided to redesign that set up. How to get a 6 v in. I wasnt going to eliminate the inbuilt balancer of the OEM crankshaft pulley. I looked for ever then stubbled across ROSS BALANCERS and in my backyard ! They built me a pulley, check out their website. The SC section is solid mount to the crankshaft so there will be no play. The front section contains the balancer and drives the AC compressor , alternator and tensioner. Now the problem would be that the 4 v would be out of alignment. Those pulleys would have to be extended. Easy ? no way . With the help of another board member i looked how the AC pulley was made . The center section is held by pop rivets. They were drilled out and to within .1 mm. The center section was then removed. The pulley section was then remade in aluminium with the shoulder thicker so it could support tapped threads so as to bolt down the center section, and another 6 holes were tapped for extra strenght. The alternator pulley was extended. And finally the crankshaft pulley was made. Its their top of the line unit, called metal jacket , racing approved with all the certs. I dare say that i have never seen anyone put an aftermarket pulley with a bancer. All pieces were hard coated anodized ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Last edited by MANDALAY; 07-15-2011 at 08:47 AM.. |
