Either way you want the temp sensor after the intercooler so you can tune for the engine a/f ratio's correctly. And if the I/C becomes too heat soaked or the temp starts rising the ECU will see this and if tuned for it will alter the fuel as necessary. Andrew |

Shipment of the Rotrex Super chargers has arrived
Will order mine tomorrow.Hopefully some of you guys can help me with this. The model ill be getting is the C30-94 . Its good for 200 - 400 horses. The max shaft speed on the unit is 10,500 rpm. Now given the diameter of the crank pulley 135 mm , if i put a 90 mm pulley on the SC, at 7,000 rpm engine speed the calculated shaft speed will be 10.500 rpm . The Rotrex still has a safety magine of 20% . But given that that will be to much from what i want to achieve. It equates to roughly 14 psi. Now i can always put a bigger pulley on the SC so as to decrease the shaft speed = lower psi , but the guru with Rotrexes advises to use the smaller pulley and add a restrictor on the inlet which effectivily reduces the opening from 75 mm down to 30 mm. This therefore lowers the amount of boost but still keeps the high revs of the shaft making a very responsive engine. What do you guys reckon. Have you ever seen this done with say Turbos ? |

But i dont want to see my engine blow up. |

BY THE WAY:
i was just reading about blow-off versus recirculators, the deal is that if you are using a MAF then you should "blow off" the pressure into the compressor inlet and before the MAF (recirculate). The deal here being that the ECU will flip out from the false signal it gets from the MAF when the charge air is blow into the atmosphere instead of into the compressor inlet (and thus passed the MAF). If you do vent to atmosphere a situation will occur that the ECU will make the A/F ratio too rich and bog down the hell out. Long live WRC anti-lag systems & their descriptions! ![]() |

Forget anout the girls.
Just got my Rotrex ! Thats excitement C30-94 About the size of the Alternator. In actual fact im going to use the alternator bracket as the starting point. Add a front plate to it then have the thing made in one piece. Lot of work in stall for me but thats the fun. And since l have the spare engine i can contiue enjoying my car through summer ! BTW the Rotrex has to be positioned where the alternator is as any lower and you get close the the cross member , so it cant go lower where the Celica has their power steering pump on the Beams. |

Ahhh... I see. Not talking about ricer sound, but when you have one that does sound good. (not excessively loud or anything) you get blow off happy. You'll end up finding yourself blowing off at blades of grass that looked at you wrong.
jk. Yeah, recirc it for super stealth. Andrew |

Did I see somewhere you were thinking about putting a tee in and tapping off for the MAP sensor? I can't remember where I saw it now but I've seen a few times people being very specific to run a separate line for the MAP sensor and not to tie it in with any boost gauges or BOV lines etc. I don't know if that's different from stock set-up on the 3SGTE as I've only got a full manual for the rev 1. I just noticed that statement again in my ECU manual last night -sorry if I've picked it up wrong or someone else has already picked up on it.

The turbo manifold has many nipples to it.
You know the beams has only the mistery one. I need 2 vacuum nipples so its either tee that one or tee the brake boost line or tee the pipe coming from the cam cover . Which ones going to be the best ? Hey Richard any chance of askiing Rogue which method the used ? Had a look at the capabilities of the MoTec knock sensor. Man its DEAR $1500 AUSSIE BUT ITS CONTROL IS TRUELY AMAZING. This thing knows which cylinder is knocking and takes corrective steps to eliminate it ![]() In actual fact if used ,the tuning can be taken to the limit without the concerns of knocking because of change in conditions fuel , temp etc SOLD. Started on the ROTREX bracket design. Love the block so many prethreaded holes to mount brackets Will make it in MDF then give it to my engineer , machinist . They have the latest radial lathes and can scan the object and reproduce it. Going with aluminium Last edited by MANDALAY; 11-07-2008 at 10:59 AM.. |
