Angry Drove my car today, now I have a cel

I was pulling out of my driveway and a cel popped up. This is my first cel. Does anyone have a list of the codes? I am trying to get the video of the cel on my computer, when I figure it out I'll post it up. I think its code 21 and 33 . It goes: Blink Blink (small pause) Blink long pause blink blink blink (small pause) blink blink blink then it repeats.

Any help is greatly appreciated

Thanks

According to Diagnostic Codes

21 = o2 sensor
33 = ISCV

I'd suggest resetting the error codes to see if it does come up again first

huh, I just cross referenced that page above to the 3sgte diagnostic codes and they are pretty similar. Did toyota make all the diagnostic codes standard for all vehicles?

I reset the ecu and they popped back up within 20 seconds. Where is the iscv located, is it under the tb? If I have been using the same iscv and o2 sensor why would it pop a code out of the blue?

Do you have the canister and those vacuum hosea on your car and l posted in another thread ?
Tour O2 sensor has probably gone to heaven.
Did you use your own or one that came with the clip ?
Make sure your battery is at full charge. Check with multimeter.
Is the car idleing and running normally.
Looks like you started your engine but you have another 2 lights on also

I dont have the canister. I am using a modified caldina harness and it never had the connector for the charcoal canister. Did you see the video of the cel? I want to make sure I read the codes correct. I made the harness myself, I never had a problem before. I just put a 2amp trickle charge on the battery for about 8 hrs till it was 100% charged. The idle is very choppy. I never had a problem with the idle before. In the video I did not start the car, I just turned the key to the on position with the tc pin in the diagnostics port grounded.

Thank you

If you have an 02 sensor code, it is probibly toast. If the idle is not so nice, try cleaning the isc motor. They tend to collect oil in them and gum up. a simple cleaning most of the time works great. The oil comes from the pcv hose in front of the throttle body. And yes the isc valve is attached to the throttle body on the bottom.

Do you have the coolant lines connected to your Throttle Body ?
Dont know what not connecting the Charcoal canister does ?.......... Im more worried that the vacuum lines are not connnected.
Where have you got your lines going to ?
The one on the FPR and the TB ones.....
I mention battery as a low reference will through out a cel for other items. Found that out with a loose alternator connection.

The only 2 vac lines on the whole car is the one to the fpr and the one to the brake booster. If I was supposed to have this wired in, I would of had a plug for it hanging somewhere. What pins does the canister feed to on the ecu?

Thanks again

Does it run really rich? This is a common symptom along with a choppy idle that will lead to premature o2 sensor failure.

Good news and bad news. Good news first I pulled the tb off and cleaned it as well as the iscv and put it back on and I started the car warmed it up and then shut the car off and I started it about 5 more times to make sure I cycled the ecu and I dont have the cel anymore!..
Now 2 problems:
The car idles high- could I have spun the shaft in the iscv when I had it off or is it controlled electronically and knows where its at? OIr maybe the ecu needs to relearn?

When I ground tc I am still getting 1 code, code 21 again so Im pretty sure my o2 is toast. Could the position I have the o2 sensor have lead to its early death? I have it on the header. The header goes 4 into 2 then 2 into 1 and I have the o2 bung welded where it goes into the 1 pipe.

The car does not run rich and the idle is not too choppy
Thanks

OBD I & OBD II codes are supposed to be similar no matter what the brand/make of the car ECU right? Wasn't that the whole reason for getting the standard out? To make it somewhat universal....

*might* have to relearn. Your O2 sensor is where mine is on my OEM exhaust manifold. Is the angle correct? Might just be a bunk O2 sensor altogether....
My engine idles high until it reaches optimum running temp....If I remember correctly it didnt figure this out for a couple days of short runs.
Check the throttle cable stopper, maybe it's set too high by the previous owner?
